In the heart of the Sicilian countryside, among vineyards and olive groves stretching toward the horizon, rises the Mandrarossa Winery project. The winery and tasting room are designed to integrate seamlessly into the surrounding environment, respecting nature and enhancing the beauty of the wine-growing landscape. Thanks to a design rooted in sustainability, the architecture becomes an integral part of the territory.
The project unfolds like a terrace shaped along the natural contours of the land. This semi-underground approach minimizes visual impact and takes advantage of the terrain’s topography, allowing the structure to blend effortlessly into the environment. As a result, the winery merges with the landscape, creating perfect harmony with nature. The concrete base, colored with pigments that recall the tones of the local soil, makes the building visible from a distance—yet discreet and almost invisible within its natural setting.
Inside the Mandrarossa Winery, a system of vertical connections offers visitors a unique experience. These connections allow guests to observe the barrel cellar from above, along a path that culminates in a panoramic tasting room. This layout lets the public appreciate not only the beauty of the design, but also the winemaking process from a privileged perspective. The tasting room features two large glass walls that frame the striking view of vineyards and olive trees, offering a sensory experience in deep harmony with the surrounding landscape.
The use of natural materials, such as wood and exposed concrete, reflects a conscious commitment to sustainability. These materials not only help integrate the structure with the earthy tones of the landscape, but also reflect the culture and tradition of Sicilian wine.
